You must be 17 years old or over, possess a current UK provisional licence and be accompanied at all times by a qualified driver, who is 23 years old or over. We charge £10 per hire for accompanying drivers aged 23-24. If you currently possess a full UK automatic driving licence, you will still be able to hire a manual dual control car with a provisional driving licence. Certain endorsed licences may be accepted for both provisional and full licence holder - please contact us for details.
If you currently possess a full UK Automatic driving licence you are still able to hire a manual dual control car as a provisional driver.
An accompanying driver must be 23 years or over and must have held a full and valid UK or EU driving licence for a minimum of three years. If the accompanying driver is aged 23-24, they are required to pay an additional young driver supplement of £10, either at the time of booking or on collection of the vehicle. If the accompanying driver has points on their licence, please check with the branch prior to hiring, to ensure the driver is eligible.
The accompanying driver must be qualified to drive the type of vehicle being driven by the learner, i.e., they must have a manual licence if they are supervising the learner in a manual car. Insurance is provided for both the learner and the full licence holder but not for Hire and Reward, meaning that qualified driving instructors are unable to accompany learner drivers in a professional capacity.

* We only require proof of address from the learner driver on a dual control hire e.g. utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months. However, when a parent and child are hiring and the learner is struggling to provide proof of address, we are happy to accept the proof of address from the parent instead.
Additional passengers must not be carried at any time in our dual control cars.
No, you need to be accompanied by a friend or relative over the age of 23 who has held a full licence for more than 3 years.
Yes, you can use our dual control cars to sit your driving test. We recommend that you hire one of our dual control cars for at least one hour on a previous day to check licence details and to familiarise yourself with the vehicle. Please let us know that you require the car for your test at the time of booking with us.
Yes, VAT & insurance are both included in your dual control car rental. An excess will be charged for any vehicle damage, however, an optional excess waiver can be purchased (subject to qualification).
We will accept certain endorsements for both the provisional licence holder and the full licence holder, please contact us for details.
Rentals between 1 and 4 hours include mileage and fuel. Fuel must be replaced on overnight rentals.
The minimum period of rental is 1 hour and maximum is 4 hours.

Yes. There will be an extra internal rearview mirror so the examiner is able to see the road behind.
Learner drivers who hold a provisional licence are allowed to drive on the motorway provided they are in one of our dual-controlled cars accompanied by an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
Parents and friends are unable to carry out motorway lessons unless they hold an ADI licence.
All roads can be driven by learner drivers. Learners can drive on motorways only if the learner is accompanied by an approved driving instructor in a dual controlled vehicle. For all other roads, learner drivers must be supervised by a person over 23 who has had a full driving licence for at least three years.
