Passenger flights will return to Carlisle Lake District Airport for the first time in 25 years.
From 4th July 2019, Scottish airline Loganair will operate routes from Carlisle to Dublin, Belfast and London Southend. The airport is located six miles east of Carlisle City and the M6 (J43 or J44).
Kate Willard from the Stobart Group, said: ‘Despite the delays, we are chuffed that we are bringing commercial flights back to the region for the first time in more than 25 years.’
Margaret Speirs, Operations Manager at Arnold Clark Car & Van Rental, commented: ‘It’s a really exciting time for Carlisle. The airport reopening will bring so many new opportunities to the area and we’re looking forward to seeing lots of new faces at our branch.’
