The additional services offered by Arnold Clark Car & Van Rental

At Arnold Clark Car & Van Rental, we're delighted to offer our customers a wide range of additional services that they can add to their booking to make sure they get the best rental experience possible.

Additional services available include an excess waiver, fuel pre-purchase, satellite navigation (GPS) hire, additional drivers, local pick-up and drop-off from selected branches and a wide variety of child car seats.

Refund guarantee

If you choose to pay the refund guarantee charge, you can cancel your booking at any time, you’ll receive a full refund, including the £5 fee.

You will not receive a refund if you haven’t cancelled your booking and you fail to collect your vehicle. To cancel your reservation, just email us at rental.reservations@arnoldclark.com or call us on 0141 849 7170.

Excess waiver

Reduce the excess waiver on your vehicle to zero by paying £15 per day. If you opt out of this, a flat excess of £1,000 would have to be paid in the event of damage to the vehicle. Please note that although the excess waiver covers damage caused to tyres and wheels, it does not cover lost or damaged keys or damage to the interior of the vehicle. Nor does it cover damage to the vehicle caused by hitting low-level objects such as bridges or low branches, or damage caused by failure to pay due care and attention to potential hazards. It also does not cover costs following a road traffic accident where our vehicle has to be recovered from an off-road location and there is no third party involved. In such instances the hirer must pay for all costs incurred.

Fuel pre-purchase

Now we’re giving you the option to pre-purchase a full tank of fuel at a reduced rate per litre. Please note that you won't receive a refund if there's fuel left in the vehicle. For more information, just ask the team in the branch when you pick up your hire.

Satellite navigation (GPS)

Take the stress out of finding your destination by adding one of our free of charge satellite navigation (GPS) systems to your booking.

Additional drivers

Arrive at your destination fresher by adding an additional driver to your car hire. You can add up to three extra drivers to help share the driving and all will have the same insurance cover as the main driver. Adding an additional driver to your rental will cost as little as £12 per day including VAT.

Airport shuttle bus

Most of our airport branches offer a pick up and drop-off service to and from the airport. All you have to do is call our branch when you arrive and you will be collected. We will also take you back to the airport once your hire is complete.

Pick up

Our drivers can collect you from a local train or bus station, saving you money and time. We can also collect your from ferry ports. Please speak to your branch to confirm availability.

Drop off

We offer a one-way rental service, meaning you can drop off your rental car or van at another one of our branches. Please refer to your branch for more details.

Child seats

Children under 12 years of age or less than 135 cm in height are required to sit in an appropriate child seat while in cars. We have baby and child seats available to accommodate your family’s needs – just ask our friendly staff, who will be happy to help. Please note that Arnold Clark staff are unable to fit child seats into the vehicle. This must be carried out by the hirer.
